WHAT MAKES YOUR PRODUCTS DIFFERENT?

Homemade | Handcrafted | Fresh | Organic | No additive or improvers
This is what we stand for. We bake and make everything from scratch, and that fact alone sets us apart from most other bakeries. This improves the taste and quality of the products we make.

WHAT ARE YOUR STORE TIMINGS?

We open every day at 10am in the morning and close by 5pm from Mondays to Saturdays and from 1pm to 5pm on Sundays.

ARE YOU A FULL SERVICE BAKERY, OR DO YOU ONLY MAKE CAKES?

We are a not a full-service bakery. We specialise in cakes mainly, and we make most other bakery products too. Please see our Menus using the  Order Now button on our homepage.

DO YOU HAVE A STORE FRONT ?

We do not have a store front. We are a homebase bakery with an online front. You can place your order and have it delivered to you or curbside pickup at our location.

DO YOU MAKE CUSTOMISED CAKES?

Yes, we do make customised cakes. We also have standard cake sizes available for sale. Please see our Menus using the Order Now button on our homepage.

DO YOU DELIVER?

Yes, we deliver to selected areas in and around Kumasi. Delivery charges vary from place to place and are not included in product prices. Customers are required to pay delivery fee to drivers / riders on delivery.

CAN A CAKE ORDER BE CHANGED AFTER IT HAS BEEN PLACED?

Generally, cake orders are considered final once paid for but we do allow changes with at least a 5 days notice before due date.  Please note the cost of your cake may increase if you change the design, flavors, etc.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY ORDER? 

 

If you have not made your payment on the website, you can still go to the cart and cancel it. If you have already made the payment and you want to cancel your order, you can only do so if order due date is more than 5 days away from cancellation date. Call or email us with a complete description of the order and we will try our best to refund as soon as possible. Ideally in 2 weeks.

DO YOU HAVE GIFT BASKET OPTIONS FOR DIFFERENT OCCASIONS?

Yes, we do have Gift Baskets of different sizes and they are customisable on request too. they include different cake flavours, pastries, cookies and finger foods etc.

HOW MUCH ADVANCE NOTICE DO YOU NEED FOR A CAKE ORDER

Here are the available cake design categories and their required advance notice periods:​

  • 2+ business days for Birthday Cakes, Quick Cakes, Custom cakes, Two-Tier Cakes & all of our all-occasion cakes shown on our website.

  • 7+ business days for All cakes available including custom tiered, 3D, cut-outs, shaped, etc. (but limited by baking capacity and capabilities so please order as early as possible)

  • 4+ Weeks for Wedding cakes, but please call us if you need something sooner.

WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF CAKE HIVE GH CAKES

The shelf life of Cake Hive Gh cakes can vary drastically depending on the surrounding temperature and humidity levels.  Generally, all cakes stay fresh for a longer period of time when refrigerated.  However, at typical room temperature (around 72 degrees) it is okay to leave cakes out of the refrigerator for 24 hours without noticing change in quality.  Therefore, it is okay to pick up a cake earlier and leave it unrefrigerated until it is served the next day, assuming typical room temperature and average humidity levels*. 

Here are general recommendations for shelf life and storage method:

  • Typical room temperature and average humidity levels – 24 hours

  • Refrigerator – 3-5 days

  • Freezer – 4 weeks

HOW CAN I OBTAIN A QUOTE FOR A CUSTOM CAKE NOT PICTURED AMONGST YOUR WEBSITE COLLECTION

If you would like a quote for cake that is not shown on our website, please complete our site form or send an email containing the following information (please feel free to copy this list into the email or site form and write your answers next to each question):

  • Name

  • Phone number

  • Date and time you would need to pick-up the cake

  • Cake flavor(s) preferred (Note if there are multiple tiers please include the flavors for each tier)

  • Filling(s) if any and type preferred (Note if there are multiple tiers please include the fillings for each tier)

  • Frosting preferred

  • Attach the example picture of the cake you would like quoted

  • Number of people to be served

  • Note on any changes you would like made to the design of the cake using the attached picture as the reference.

  • If the cake has fondant (smooth covering or 3D pieces on the cake), let us know if you want the fondant on your cake or prefer buttercream.

  • If the cake would end up being smaller than what you have pictured based on your servings is that okay OR do you want the quote to be as close as possible to the picture regardless of your required serving sizes?

HOW MUCH OF A DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED WHEN ORDERING A CAKE?

We require your cake order be paid in full or at the least 50% of order price (and the balance due before delivery or at pick up) at the time the cake order is placed. Please note your cake order will not be fulfilled if you do not pay for the cake in advance. We do accept mobile money payments over the phone and are able to email you the receipt for your convenience.

IS IT OKAY FOR SOMEONE OTHER THAN THE PERSON WHO ORDERED THE CAKE TO PICK IT UP?

Anyone can pick up your cake order but only with prior information from you and a description of the pick-up person. Also, they MUST have this information written down to give us clarity when they arrive:

  • What is the FUUL name of the person who ordered the cake?

  • Is the cake round or a sheet cake AND what size?

  • If this is a tier cake, wedding cake, 3D or cut-out please specify that information as well.

  • What (if any) is the written message / inscription on the cake?

CAN I ADD PERSONALISED MESSAGE(S) TO MY CAKE?

Yes, you can add personalised messages to your cake. Please note there is never any extra charge to customize your cake with adding a personalized message and you can do this when you order right on our website in the Special Requests field/box or add that as a note via whatever means through which your order is placed.

DO YOU MAKE CAKES WITH PERSONAL PICTURES AS PART OF THE DESIGN? (i.e. EDIBLE IMAGE OR PICTURE CAKES)

We do make cakes that include personal picture(s) as part of the design. We require that you either upload the picture when you order your cake or email us the image you would like to us to use. A simple alternative to scanning your image would be take a picture of the image in high resolution on your cell phone and send it to us. Lastly, we will not accept any pictures that include registered TRADEMARKS.  Any image that includes a trademark would require authorization from the owner of the Trademark in order for us to use the image as part of the cake decoration. Lastly, we do not accept any figurines or extra decorations at our bakery to place on your cake, but that is something you can do on your own when the cake is in your possession.
